Sing Out Project

History

Thehistory Sing Out Project was formed in 2005. The idea came out of focusing on young people who were either excluded from school or where certain academic strains went unnoticed. Wayne Ellington saw a growth of young people who needed that encouragement, motivation, self-esteem and determination to evaluate their own needs. Being quite esteemed in the Gospel music sector, Ellington, along with his colleague Chantelle Codner began writing a series of music programs where young people would be able to identify qualifications at basic level such as numeracy and English literature or language. This was performed in a few schools and colleges around Manchester and was found to be very successful. The idea expanded and we took the program to adult learning centres where there was also a great need and the program worked for the individuals that attended. The Sing Out Project is now fully functioning in areas where our team continues to work in Schools, Colleges, Inclusion Zones and other educational centres. We are delighted to be able to motivate, uplift, excite and give life to what most people thought was lost and thankful for the tools we have been blessed w ith to carry out this rewarding service.
